Job summary

Ascensus is seeking a Senior Fraud Strategy Analyst to join the Fraud Risk Management team. This role designs, executes, and improves fraud detection, prevention, and mitigation across the organization.

You will own fraud rules, analyze performance, and drive strategic enhancements in a growing environment. The ideal candidate will have deep fraud domain expertise, experience with rules-based environments, and the ability to translate data and outcomes into actionable improvements.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of progressive experience in fraud strategy, fraud investigations, financial crimes, or financial services risk management.
• Experience in fraud and/or financial crime roles within banking, fintech, payments, retirement services, or other regulated environments.
• Experience creating, managing, tuning, or optimizing fraud rules and decision strategies within a fraud platform or rules-based environment.
• Strong knowledge of fraud typologies and risk management practices across identity, account takeover, payment fraud, mule activity, and other schemes.

Responsibilities

• Own and support fraud detection and prevention strategies across the fraud lifecycle.
• Manage and optimize the fraud rules platform, including creating new rules, refining existing rules, testing changes, validating outputs, and monitoring performance.
• Analyze fraud detection results to identify false positives/negatives and recommend strategy changes.
• Identify and respond to new and emerging fraud trends, attack patterns, and typologies across fraud risks.
• Conduct root cause analysis of fraud events and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Use fraud tools, analytics, reporting, and data sources to identify suspicious activity and support strategy optimization.
• Help build and mature fraud capabilities in evolving environments, including governance and documentation standards.
• Partner cross-functionally to strengthen fraud controls and support strategic initiatives.
• Work with internal tech teams and third-party providers to enhance fraud systems and detection tools.
• Monitor trends and KPIs and communicate findings to leadership.
• Prepare clear analyses and presentations related to fraud trends, rule changes, and control recommendations.
