This role will work closely with the Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) Fraud, Risk and Identity team. The SIE team plays a central role in protecting Sony PlayStation's digital ecosystem by identifying, monitoring, and mitigating fraud, identity abuse, and emerging risk threats.

This role is ideal for a seasoned fraud professional who combines deep fraud subject-matter expertise, strong data-informed judgment, and the ability to lead complex fraud initiatives in partnership with product, engineering, analytics, data science, machine learning, operations, payments, identity, and external partners. The Senior Fraud Strategist operates with a high degree of autonomy within established strategic direction and serves as a key contributor to the broader fraud vision for SEPS.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contribute to the development and execution of fraud strategy, roadmaps, and supporting capabilities across Sony Engagement Platform services, Sony operating companies, and related products and services.
  • Translate fraud risks, customer needs, business objectives, control gaps, and operational insights into clear functional and technical requirements supported by data and analysis.
  • Lead defined fraud mitigation workstreams from concept through implementation, coordinating cross-functional delivery with product, engineering, analytics, data science, operations, payments, identity, and external partners.
  • Monitor evolving fraud and abuse trends across digital goods, physical goods, account activity, entitlements, identity signals, payments, and platform behavior; recommend tactical and strategic responses to current and emerging risks.
  • Evaluate and improve fraud platforms, tools, workflows, detection rules, risk signals, and operational processes to increase precision, reduce false positives, minimize customer friction, and strengthen prevention capabilities.
  • Develop business cases, value assessments, executive-ready summaries, and recommendations that help stakeholders prioritize fraud initiatives and investments.
  • Define and track fraud metrics, dashboards, KPIs, and reporting frameworks that monitor fraud trends, program performance, mitigation effectiveness, operational health, and vendor effectiveness.
  • Act as a trusted fraud subject-matter expert for cross-functional partners, providing guidance grounded in industry best practices and practical operating realities.
  • Document repeatable processes, configuration requirements, escalation paths, investigation procedures, and operational playbooks for fraud monitoring, risk mitigation, and identity-related risk workflows.
  • Maintain flexibility to accommodate meetings with global colleagues and partners across time zones.
  • Honesty, trustworthiness and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above
