Job summary

Bassett Furniture is seeking a Senior Engineer – Product Development to turn designer concepts into buildable upholstery frames. You will design stationary and motion frames, create 3D models, and prep 2D drawings for manufacturing.

Collaborate with design, sample room, and plant teams to ensure frames look right, build efficiently, and endure use. The role emphasizes strong CAD skills, machining readiness, and hands-on production support, with opportunities to mentor colleagues and help shape

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing furniture frames (studio to production).
• Translate sketches, drawings and photos into buildable frame designs.
• Advanced 3D modeling in Solid Edge.

Responsibilities

• Interpret sketches to engineer stationary and motion upholstery frames.
• Build 3D frame models in Solid Edge (rails, posts, seat decks, backs, arms).
• Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings in AutoCAD with BOMs and cut lists.
• Prepare 3D models/part files for CNC routing and nesting.
• Release designs to production and support first builds.
• Maintain revision-controlled model/drawing/CNC libraries.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design standards.
