Job summary

CoreWeave is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer specializing in FPGA and platform integration to design, implement, validate, and maintain FPGA-based functionality across data center platforms.

You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams, driving performance, reliability, and observability while contributing to best-practices for cross-layer integration. The role includes leadership responsibilities and expects strong RTL/C++ skills, plus Linux and lab debugging experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Intel/Altera FPGA devices.
• Strong proficiency in Verilog or SystemVerilog for RTL development.
• Strong proficiency in C or C++ for low-level firmware or platform integration.

Responsibilities

• FPGA development – design, implement, and maintain FPGA logic for server-class or embedded platform functions, with emphasis on Intel/Altera devices using Quartus.
• Platform integration – define and implement interfaces between FPGA logic and adjacent platform components including BMC firmware, BIOS, CPLDs, sensors, control paths, and board management functions.
• Bring-up and validation – support early hardware enablement, board bring-up, and validation across multiple hardware revisions and lab environments.
• Cross-layer debugging – diagnose complex issues spanning FPGA logic, firmware, BIOS, hardware interfaces, and operating systems.
• Performance and reliability – improve platform robustness, fault handling, telemetry, and operational behavior for production deployments at scale.
• Vendor collaboration – work with ODMs and silicon vendors to review implementations and drive fixes.
• Automation and test – contribute to validation workflows and tooling for FPGA and platform firmware testing.
• Documentation – create and maintain clear technical docs for FPGA architecture and interfaces.
• Technical leadership – participate in design reviews and mentor engineers.
