Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer II to join their Optical Systems division in Chantilly, Virginia. In this role, you will tackle mission-critical challenges related to space domain operations for the U.S. Department of Defense. Responsibilities include FPGA logic design and collaboration with hardware teams to ensure project success.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and extensive experience in FPGA development. A competitive salary range of $143,300 – $238,700 is offered, along with comprehensive benefits, including stock options, health insurance, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in computer or electrical engineering.
• Experience in FPGA design and development.
• Understanding of design in a radiation environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Tranche 3 of the U.S. Space Development Agency’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture.
• Work with hardware design team on requirements.
• Complete FPGA logic design, coding, simulation, and testing.

Skills

FPGA firmware design with VHDL

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance

Experience with Xilinx/AMD Versal architecture

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or electrical engineering
