Job summary

Triple Crown is seeking a Senior FPGA Designer to lead the design and implementation of advanced FPGA solutions for Cabin Management Systems. You will drive architecture, coding in VHDL for Xilinx FPGAs, and integration of IP cores across the full product lifecycle.

The role requires 8+ years of FPGA experience, strong video/audio processing expertise, and the ability to collaborate with hardware and software teams in an onsite Addison, TX environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent.
• 8+ years of hands-on FPGA development experience.
• Extensive experience with Xilinx FPGA families and Vivado design tools.
• Strong experience integrating Xilinx IP cores and developing reusable FPGA architectures.
• Experience designing real-time video and audio processing systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop FPGA solutions for prototype and production Cabin Management System products.
• Design and implement complex video and audio processing algorithms using VHDL targeting Xilinx FPGAs.
• Develop and optimize real-time video pipelines supporting 4K/UHD video, HDR/SDR processing, and video scaling.
• Develop digital audio processing solutions (IEC 60958, IEC 61937, I2S, TDM, AES67, DSP).
• Integrate high-speed interfaces (DDR, Ethernet, HDMI) and enable USB-based 4K video playback within embedded cabin environments.
• Perform FPGA simulation, verification, timing analysis, and hardware debugging; collaborate on architecture and timing closure.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to future product development initiatives.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior FPGA Design Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced FPGA solutions supporting next-generation Cabin Management Systems. In this role, you'll contribute across the full product lifecycle, from concept and architecture through manufacturing release and product support.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop FPGA solutions for prototype and production Cabin Management System products.
• Design and implement complex video and audio processing algorithms using VHDL targeting Xilinx FPGAs.

Develop and optimize real-time video pipelines supporting:

• 4K/UHD video
• HDR/SDR processing
• Video scaling

Develop digital audio processing solutions supporting:

• IEC 60958 (LPCM)
• IEC 61937 (Dolby/DTS)
• I2S
• TDM
• AES67
• DSP functions

Integrate and optimize high-speed interfaces including:

• DDR Memory
• Ethernet
• HDMI
• Support USB-based 4K video playback within embedded cabin management environments.
• Perform FPGA simulation, verification, timing analysis, and hardware debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and simulation tools.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams on architecture, design partitioning, board bring-up, timing closure, and performance optimization.
• Develop FPGA requirements and system architecture alongside cross-functional engineering teams.
• Analyze hardware schematics to support FPGA integration (PCB design experience is not required).
• Integrate internally developed and third-party IP while promoting reusable FPGA design practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation including design specifications, interface definitions, and implementation documentation.
• Provide technical leadership on complex FPGA development efforts while mentoring junior engineers as needed.
• Support existing products while contributing to future new product development initiatives.
