Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. in San Diego, CA seeks a Senior FPGA Design / FPGA Firmware Engineer to lead RTL and firmware development for advanced emulation and prototyping platforms.

You will work hands-on across FPGA implementations and embedded software, shaping HW/SW partitioning and system-level integration. The role requires strong SystemVerilog/Verilog, experience with AMD/Xilinx and Intel toolchains, and collaboration with hardware and software teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of FPGA design/firmware experience.
• Strong SystemVerilog/Verilog RTL experience.
• Experience with AMD/Xilinx UltraScale+/MPSoC/Versal and Intel Stratix/Agilex.
• Experience with Vivado or Quartus.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, integrate, and debug FPGA RTL and firmware for emulation and prototyping platforms.
• Develop FPGA solutions using AMD/Xilinx and Intel toolchains.
• Contribute to system architecture, HW/SW partitioning, FPGA architecture and integration.
• Work on large FPGA designs with clock/domain and timing closure challenges.
• Design high-speed FPGA interfaces (PCIe, MGT/SerDes, LVDS) and support integration.
• Develop embedded software/firmware for FPGA-based systems.
• Improve FPGA tools, flows, and automation; explore AI/ML in design and verification.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, CAD, and system teams to resolve issues.
