Job summary

CU Boulder’s LASP is seeking an FPGA Design Engineer IV to lead flight digital logic across missions; a senior technical leader driving requirements, RTL, verification, and hardware bring-up. You will mentor engineers, define baselines, and coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams, delivering flight-ready FPGA solutions for DAPHNE, DUSTER, EMA and CubeSat programs.

Due to export-control requirements, only U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated hands-on FPGA/ASIC development with technical leadership.
  • Expert proficiency in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog for synthesizable designs.
  • Experience with FPGA implementation flows and timing analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as FPGA technical lead or architect for complex flight instruments and spacecraft.
  • Translate mission objectives into FPGA architectures and verification strategies.
  • Own and maintain the FPGA technical baseline including constraints and verification evidence.
  • Lead design reviews, assess risks, and document decisions and actions.
  • Be hands-on through hardware bring-up, environmental testing, and integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on hardware and software co-design.
