Job summary

Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP is seeking a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst to join our team in Denver, Detroit, or Minneapolis. The role requires 7+ years of related experience and strong skills in Excel, SQL, Power Query, and Tableau to deliver complex financial analyses and reporting.

You will collaborate with the FP&A team to support monthly, quarterly, and annual disclosures, develop insights, and help drive data-driven decision making across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• Seven or more years of progressively related work experience.
• Expertise in accounting systems and reporting.
• Experience in professional services law firms is preferred.
• Experience extracting and reporting data using SQL and BI tools.
• Strong Excel skills with Power Query, Pivot Tables, formulas, macros, and charts.
• CPA certification is not required but beneficial.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication; ability to present data clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare detailed reports and financial analyses using the accounting system and Excel.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, including management reporting and financial analyses.
• Assist with external surveys and cross-departmental projects as assigned.
• Collaborate with FP&A Manager and Senior Manager to align on priorities and resources.
• Deliver ad hoc analyses and manage projects from start to finish.
• Develop expertise on the firm's financial system and operations as a subject matter expert.
• Use SQL, Power Query, Tableau and other tools to provide timely financial information.
• Perform any other job-related tasks as assigned.
