Job summary

San Diego FC is seeking a Sr. Manager of FP&A to lead annual budgeting and forecast cycles, drive cash flow management, and partner with senior leadership.

The role emphasizes robust financial modeling, scenario planning, and strategic insights to improve margins and growth. You will oversee monthly close support, variance analyses, and cross-department collaboration to deliver actionable financial insights for decision making and MLS-related reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in an FP&A environment including reporting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Proven leadership skills with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Sports and entertainment experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the annual financial planning process, including development of revenue, expense and cash forecast assumptions.
• Oversee consolidated planning and forecasting cycles with scenario modeling and strategic input.
• Support consolidated monthly/quarterly close with variance analysis against budget/forecast.
• Update and manage cash flow model; present monthly to upper management.
• Prepare monthly reporting of actuals and variance analysis for department leadership.
• Collaborate with department leadership to obtain business insights for forecasting.
• Present financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to optimize growth, margins, and cash flow.
• Maintain financial models to support business plan updates and strategic objectives.
• Analyze each line of business to identify efficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Complete debt reporting quarterly.
• Prepare MLS reporting package for MLS season.
• Model financial impact of initiatives like sponsorships and stadium changes.
• Perform ad hoc scenario analysis and other duties as assigned.
