Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in the United States is seeking a Finance Analyst III on the NDx FP&A team to partner with R&D, Sales, Marketing, and G&A to drive understanding of financial performance and informed decisions.

You will support monthly close, budgeting, and long-range plans, analyze variances, and develop business cases for investments, with emphasis on improving automation and data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 3+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, accounting, FP&A, or related finance role.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Strong Excel skills to organize, analyze and summarize data.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to finance and non-finance colleagues.
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with R&D, Sales, Marketing, Quality, Facilities, and G&A to interpret financial performance.
• Manage and forecast OPEX; explain variances against budget and forecast.
• Support R&D project financial reviews with spending and forecasts tracking.
• Collaborate with HR and commercial teams on headcount and staffing financial impact.
• Support CAPEX planning with business cases and asset monitoring.
• Assist monthly close activities including variance analysis and reconciliations.
• Prepare annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range financial plans focused on OPEX.
• Provide analysis and decision support to business unit leadership and accounting.
• Analyze profitability, spending trends, and working capital to improve performance.
• Create clear financial reports and presentations for leadership.
• Reconcile information across systems and maintain data integrity.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and automate reporting and analytics.
• Support SOX controls and corporate policies and participate in PPI initiatives.
