Job summary

Google LLC in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Senior Research Scientist, Foundational Audio to lead a research agenda spanning sequence modeling, speech, and multimodal data. You will design large-scale experiments, prototype architectures, and drive ideas from concept to evaluation.

You will co-design efficient, scalable models with attention to latency, work with open-source toolkits, publish findings at top conferences, and mentor newer researchers within Google Research.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven track record in sequence, speech, or audio modeling research.
• Publications in top ML or audio conferences/journals.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead research agendas, experimental designs, and evaluation benchmarks in sequence, speech, audio, and multimodal modeling.
• Co-design and optimize models for scaling laws, memory or cache efficiency, distillation, and low-latency streaming inference.
• Contribute to open-source toolkits, and mentor researchers.
