Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr Forward Deployed Engineer to work with federal government customers, owning architecture and delivering end-to-end data & AI solutions on the Databricks platform. This hands-on, customer-facing role requires traveling to client sites 20-25% and collaborating with engineering, product, and support teams to deliver measurable impact.

Qualifications

6+ years in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
Two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP) with expertise in at least one.
Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and runtime internals.
Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments and MLOps practices.
Experience delivering technical projects for enterprise clients with documentation.

Responsibilities

Lead production-grade system delivery for federal government projects.
Own architecture, design decisions, and end-to-end implementation.
Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams across engagements.
Embed with client teams and ensure solutions are secure and scalable.
Travel to customer locations 20-25% of the time and gather feedback for improvement.
