Job summary

SailPoint is seeking Senior Forward Deployed Engineers to bridge solution engineering, professional services, and product management. You will apply AI tooling and deep implementation expertise to build foundational solutions, support sales, and accelerate time-to-value for major accounts.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years in enterprise software, systems integrator, or consulting; 3+ years in software implementation/pre-sales.
• Excellent communications skills and extensive client/partner interaction experience.
• Working knowledge of web services, app servers, DBs, virtualization, and directories.
• Conversant in modern SaaS architecture.
• Experience with agentic coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Kiro, Google Antigravity, GitHub CoPilot, OpenAI Codex).
• Familiarity with Java, XML, Python, LDAP, SQL, Azure/AWS/GCP; experience with NodeJS/JS/TS/Angular/React is desirable.

What You’ll Do:

Operating at the intersection of Solution Engineering , Professional Services and Product Management , Senior Forward Deployed Engineers ( FDEs ) leverage state-of-the-art AI tooling alongside deep implementation expertise and industry knowledge to build foundational solutions , solve complex problems, accelerate our customers' time-to-value and decrease the cost of traditional services . You will partner with our sales organization by applying your technical abilities , problem solving skills and business acumen in support of SailPoint’s growth objectives , with our largest, most strategic and c omplex accounts .

Senior Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) at SailPoint embark on their journey by undergoing comprehensive product and sales training. This initial phase allows them to harness their existing experience, paving the way for a profound understanding of our SaaS solutions and the challenges they solve for our customers .

Within two months , S enior FDEs begin participating in sales deals where they will leverage their product implementation expertise as well as client and partner communication skills to implement foundational solutions and proof-of- value implementations , leading to rapid time to value.

After their first six months, FDEs will be expected to serve as technical leads on customer engagements and have established themselves as both technical and consultative experts within the SailPoint Sales organization .

By the end of their first year , they will have become a trusted advisor to customers, partners, and to less experienced team members. They may have the opportunity to speak at national or regional conferences and user groups.

Responsibilities:

• Activelyparticipatein the sales process and work closely with the direct and channel sales teams
• Discover and understand customer requirements and align our solutions to those requirements , augmenting your expertise with AI tooling
• Participate in onsite and remote foundational implementation engagements
• Educat e customers on high-level product architecture, functional design, and best practices
• Assist in the analysis, and documentation of customer requirements and how they map to SailPoint solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams like sales, solution engineering, product, professional services, and customer success to ensure a seamless customer experience
• Collaborate with other F orward D eployed E ngineering team members to design creative solutions to complex problems.
• Master Artificial Intelligence and Agentic t echnologies to solve customer problems.
• Contribute to building out Agentic technology solutions that become our standard for demonstrations of SailPoint’s products.
• Fo cus on SailPoint’s largest, most complex and strategic a ccounts and prospects.

Requirements:

• 5-7+ years of professional work experience as part of an enterprise software company, systems integrator, or consulting firm; 3+ years of software implementation or pre-sales experience. Experience in software development, implementation, and configuration.
• Excellent communications skills and extensive experience working directly with clients and partners.
• A working knowledge of technical infrastructure including web services, application servers, databases, virtualization, and directories is required.
• Conversant in modern SaaS architecture.
• Experience with agentic coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Kiro, Google Antigravity, GitHub CoPilot, OpenAI Codex.
• Familiarity with Java, XML, Python, L DAP, SQL, Powershell, JSON, Azure/AWS/GCP is desirable.
• Experience with the following tech-stack: NodeJS, JavaScript, Typescript, Angular, or React.js.

Preferred:

• 3+ years working with Identity, Governance and Access Management solutions.
• Experience with at least one of the following:
  • Windows and Unix (Linux, Sun, HP, AIX) platforms.
  • Relational databases (Oracle, Sybase, MSSQL, MySQL).
  • NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis).
  • Directories (LDAP, AD).
  • Enterprise resource planning or service management systems (SAP, PeopleSoft, ServiceNow).
  • Cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with SailPoint products and vendors such as Saviynt, RSA/ Aveksa , One Identity, Oracle Identity Manager, etc.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts.
• Experience with project management duties (project planning, resource management, scope, schedule and status, documentation).
• Experience with quality assurance duties (usability testing, performance testing, automated testing, test scripts, test cases and test plans).Security software or IT audit experience.

Education:

• Computer Science degree, Engineering degree, or equivalent experience.
• J2EE certification and/or CISSP certification is a plus.
• SailPoint Certified Engineer or Solution Architect is a plus and is expected within 12 months of hire.

Travel:

• This position may require up to 15% travel.

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.

$126,200 - $212,754.00

Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
