The Senior Formulation Technologist responsible for the design and execution of product development, customer support, and applied research projects for our Beauty & Home Care Applications. The Sr. Formulation Technologist will lead and execute projects of defined scope and is responsible for developing skin- and hair care capabilities within the organization. This includes providing training to internal and external employees, partners, and customers.

What You’ll Do:

• Working with Marketing, R&D, other cross-functional teams or external partners to lead and support new product development and customer projects. Translate market needs into technical solutions and contribute to innovation pipelines and product’s value proposition.

• Bench work to develop formulations and test ingredient performance in beauty & home care applications.

• Directly engage with key customers and provide technical consultancy for specific projects in alignment with frontline management.

• Planning, designing and conducting experiments/trials in the laboratory and pilot plant.This includes conducting data analysis to develop conclusions, recommendations, executing and developing methods for finished applications to assess the performance of ingredients/technologies. Handle complex troubleshooting.

• guide or mentor junior technologists.

• In conjunction with Marketing, assisting with writing technical papers and presenting at conferences to promote Ingredion’s beauty expertise, ingredients, and solutions.

• Developing industry relationships and networking within organizations, such as the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC).

• Completing technical project reports, presentations and providing project status updates, plans, milestones and outcomes to team and stakeholders as required.

• With Legal and Product Development Marketing, initiating prior art searches related to projects and keeping appropriate records (maintaining lab notebooks for all projects) to support Intellectual Property development.

• Drive the creation of intellectual property, including patents and technical publications, to enhance the company’s competitive edge.

• Developing relationships with project teams (R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, Business Development) to ensure projects are completed in agreed upon timelines.

• Join trade shows, cosmetic congresses, or meetings with strategic clients for specific projects as alignment with line management

What You’ll Bring** :**

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmacy or other relevant technical fields with at least 5+ years relevant work experience in Personal Care finished goods Applications. Relevant experience in academics linked to the cosmetic field is a plus.
• Hands-on cosmetic formulation and applications experience using laboratory instrumentation.
• Experience with cosmetic formulation project planning, statistical data analysis, and interpretation of results with a high degree of autonomy and decision-making power.Experience with analytical instruments in a field related to cosmetics is a plus.
• Experience with project leadership and mentoring team members.
• Solid verbal and written technical communication skills e.g. making presentations and writing technical reports.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate and interact with cross-functional teams.
• Some domestic travel to visit other Ingredion facilities, strategic customers, attend conferences or trade shows may be required.

Pay Range:

$84,400.00-$112,533.33 Annual

This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation:

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
