Job summary

NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS). This Forester role supports conservation planning and forest management across Area 2 in Kentucky and is supervised by the NRCS Kentucky Assistant State Conservationist for Field Operations.

Enrollees contribute technical assistance to landowners, training staff, and coordinating with NRCS and partner affiliates.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in Forestry related field. OR BA/BS Degree in Forestry
• Valid State Driver's license
• Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
• MS SharePoint

Responsibilities

• This position provides technical support to forest landowners concerning conservation forest management and assistance available for landowners throughout Area 2 in Kentucky.
• The Forester will supervise by NRCS Kentucky Assistant State Conservationist for Field Operations and work closely with NRCS field staff.
• The Forester shall possess knowledge of planning and installation of conservation forest management practices and USDA financial assistance programs.
• They shall be able to train staff on forestry concepts and address resource concerns.
