H2M architects + engineers in Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead forensic investigations, deliver expert analysis, and support clients in the insurance and legal sectors. You will shape a growing department by guiding complex cases and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture is required.
• Licensed PE or RA is required or preferred.
• Experience with law firms and insurance companies is beneficial.
• Strong analytical, field inspection, and technical writing skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct forensic investigations of residential and commercial properties to determine cause, origin, and extent of damage.
• Analyze failures related to structural systems, water intrusion, roofing, construction defects, and building systems.
• Investigate damage from catastrophes including storms, hurricanes, and floods.
• Prepare detailed forensic engineering reports for insurance companies, attorneys, and property owners.
• Manage multiple projects and ensure timely execution.
• Communicate regularly with clients and internal teams to provide updates and maintain relationships.
• Contribute to business development and client presentations.
• Perform field inspections, including roofs, crawlspaces, and walking surfaces.
• Support development of department standards and QA/QC procedures.
• May include accident reconstruction and product defect analysis.
