Job summary

Agency for Persons with Disabilities in Florida seeks a Senior Attorney to provide legal representation to the Agency under the direction of the General Counsel. You will litigate in state and federal courts and in administrative forums, including forensic matters, and offer guidance on complex agency issues.

• Experience in forensic and agency litigation preferred.
• Ability to provide legal advice on complex Agency issues.
• Strong research and writing skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Represents the Agency in litigation in state and federal courts and administrative forums.
• Handles forensic litigation and analyzes legal issues for the Developmental Disabilities Centers and Defendant Program.
• Drafts and reviews rules, contracts, and legal documents for the Agency.
• Provides legal guidance and performs legal research to support legislation and rulemaking.
• Coordinates with Agency personnel and ensures compliance with laws and ethics in government.
