Job summary

Columbia Sportswear Company seeks an experienced Senior Product Developer to drive development from concept to commercialization. You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate with overseas staff, and ensure samples align with timelines and quality standards.

You will review designs, assess materials and cost implications, and communicate progress to leadership while maintaining detailed records for all models in development or produced overseas.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of footwear development experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, factories and vendors, including in Asia.
• Willingness to travel 15%-25% mainly between US and Asia.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff and coordinating cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develops product specifications and coordinates all aspects of product development from concepts to product confirmation for assigned models.
• Provides input in cost, production, and functional componentry.
• Sets up detailed development plans with timelines to ensure samples are delivered to merchandising on schedule.
• Maintains close communication with overseas development staff and resolves issues.
• Reviews blueprints, 3D files, and mold details to ensure accuracy and functionality.
• Collaborates with design and merchandising to identify materials and construction options.
• Sources new and innovative materials by researching suppliers and vendors.
• Maintains up-to-date files on all models developed or produced overseas.
