Job summary

Ventura County Medical Center is seeking a Senior Food Services Assistant under general supervision to prepare, serve, and deliver meals to clients, patients, staff, and visitors. You will maintain sanitation, operate kitchen equipment, and may supervise lower-level food service staff.

Applicants need at least one year of large-scale food prep/ service experience; English reading/writing is required. This position offers benefits and overtime opportunities within the Health Care Agency.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of large-scale food preparation and service experience.
• Experience with feeding large groups such as in hospitals, schools, or events preferred.
• Must be able to read and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, portions, delivers, and serves meals according to recipes and safety guidelines.
• Stores and inventories food, supplies, and materials per regulations.
• Sanitizes equipment, utensils, and facilities; cleans dishes and kitchen areas.
• Operates common kitchen equipment and may supervise lower-level staff.
