Job summary

Food Safety and Inspection Service seeks a Program Auditor to plan and conduct audits of meat, poultry, and egg product inspection systems, evaluating sanitation, HACCP, and program effectiveness. You will analyze findings, prepare reports, and collaborate with senior leadership, USDA, state partners, and external stakeholders to advance food safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must meet time-in-grade requirements and eligibility criteria.
• At least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12.
• Knowledge of meat, poultry, and egg product statutes and FSIS regulations.
• Experience auditing or reviewing food safety inspection systems; planning onsite evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct audits of domestic and foreign food safety inspection systems.
• Analyze findings, prepare comprehensive reports, and recommend improvements.
