Job summary

Mars Incorporated is seeking a Sr Specialist in Food Safety, Quality Labs & New Technology to bridge lab science and factory practice. You will lead laboratory and technology programs, partner with SQA on supplier audits, and manage critical investigations to reduce risk.

This is a 24-month project-based role located in Chicago or Battle Creek with travel. You will develop training, monitor data trends, deploy new analytic methods, and serve as an authorized witness for key material

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or related field.
7+ years of experience in food manufacturing and laboratory quality systems.
HACCP certification; certification and auditing experience.

Responsibilities

Lead Laboratory & Technology Programs across internal and third-party labs.
Provide microbiological expertise and support SQA during audits of high-risk supplier sites.
Manage escalated testing and lead laboratory investigations (PRIMP).
Oversee trending of finished product data and lead quarterly optimization reviews.
Serve as Authorized Witness for disposition of food safety-critical materials.
