Job summary

Celanese seeks a senior-level Food Contact Regulatory Affairs subject matter expert to join the Americas Product Stewardship team. This role provides independent regulatory leadership for U.S. FDA food contact and MERCOSUR requirements across Celanese’s product lines.

The successful candidate will monitor evolving regulations, assess material compliance, and manage regulatory portfolios while collaborating with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and Legal to drive compliant business growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Toxicology, Regulatory Affairs, Food Science, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 8+ years in Product Stewardship, Regulatory Affairs, Product Safety, Food Contact Compliance, or related regulatory role.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Sr. Product Stewardship SME for food contact regulations with primary focus on U.S. FDA regulations for polymers and additives.
• Monitor evolving regulatory developments and enforcement trends impacting food contact applications.
• Independently assess raw materials, additives, formulations, and finished products for compliance.
• Maintain and manage the food contact product portfolio ensuring current assessments and compliance.
• Lead complex compliance questions and provide regulatory guidance to support customers and business decisions.
