Job description

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Senior FOIA Paralegal to join our legal team supporting a large federal agency. This role involves legal review, FOIA request processing, and litigation support tasks.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Conducting searches, analyzing result sets, and screening documents for privilege or FOIA exemptions.
  2. Redacting and coding responsive documents.
  3. Performing legal research and drafting legal documents.
Qualifications:
  • Paralegal certificate, JD, or current attendance at an ABA-accredited law school with at least one year of study.
  • Minimum of one year litigation paralegal experience; trial experience is a plus.
  • Experience with eDiscovery tools like Nuix Investigate, Relativity, etc., and processing FOIA requests.
  • Knowledge of FOIA rules, exemptions, and legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency with computer applications.
Additional desirable skills:
  • Two years' experience with Nuix Investigate and FOIA processing.
  • Fluency in FOIA statutory and regulatory guidelines.
