Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Senior Fluid Systems Engineer to design liquid cooling and thermal management for the X-BAT jet-engine VTOL UAV platform. You will develop fluid components, analyze systems, engage suppliers, and own multiple aspects of the vehicle's fluid systems.

Travel to support flight tests may be required, including the Newton, KS site. The role requires a strong mechanical engineering background, 5+ years in environmental/thermal systems, and expert CAD skills with NX.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience with environmental control systems, liquid cooling systems, thermal systems, component design, system analysis, supplier management, or requirements management.
• Demonstrated ability to execute design, build, and test with rigor at speed.
• Strong CAD skills (NX preferred).
• Demonstrated proficiency with fluid system analysis, including first principles, Simscape, Amesim, etc.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated record of integrity, high standards, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design components and fluid systems for X-BAT's fluid management.
• Engage with suppliers and manage interfaces.
• Perform system and component analysis and sizing.
• Own multiple aspects of X-BAT's fluid systems.
• May travel to support flight test operations, including Newton, KS test site.
