Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Huntsville seeks a Sr. Staff System Test Engineer (Principal Engineer) to develop and execute System Test Plans for small unmanned vehicles and missiles, covering simulator, ground and flight tests.

You will lead test activities, review requirements, coordinate with engineering, and analyze large data sets with MATLAB or Excel, documenting results and ensuring readiness with labs and test assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Position requires 10-30% travel within the Continental U.S.
• Experience conducting system or flight tests is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead developmental test and evaluation of subsystems and full-scale testing.
• Develop test objectives and test cards to verify objectives.
• Review System Requirement documents for testability.
• Lead test readiness reviews, test briefs, and post-test debriefs.
• Prepare test assets and configure hardware/software for testing.
• Analyze test data using MATLAB or Excel.
• Document test results and manage telemetry/test failures.
