Job summary

Vervic Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Senior Flight Test Engineer for a full-time, direct-hire role to lead ground and flight testing on Part 23 and Part 25 certified aircraft.

You will develop test strategies, write plans, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and safety throughout the flight-test lifecycle, while mentoring junior engineers. This position requires a 10+ year track record in flight test engineering, a Bachelor's in aerospace

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of direct flight test engineering experience.
• FAA Class III Medical Certificate.
• Expertise in flight test planning, aircraft performance evaluation, and data analysis.
• Understanding of FAA, DoD, and customer certification requirements.
• Proven leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• U.S. citizen capable of obtaining DoD clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% to customer sites and test locations.

Responsibilities

• Test Leadership: Plan, execute, analyze, and report flight tests for aircraft modification and certification.
• Regulatory & Certification: Develop bases, plans, procedures, and documentation for certifications.
• Flight Operations: Serve as test director and support pre/post-flight activities.
• Technical Reporting: Prepare findings and substantiation materials for airworthiness approval.
• Design Review: Review designs and support test readiness and data release.
• Instrumentation Setup: Define and configure test instrumentation and data acquisition.
• Program Testing: Support baseline, envelope expansion, and validation flights.
• Data Analysis: Reduce and analyze flight test data using instrumentation tools.
• Systems Integration: Assist in integration and evaluation of aircraft systems modifications.
• Documentation: Prepare AFMs, ICA, and related documents.
• Safety & Risk: Implement safety and risk management procedures.
