Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking an experienced software engineer to develop and integrate flight software for satellite and space missions. You will work across the full stack, from low-level drivers to mission data systems, with emphasis on reliability, testing, and in-orbit support.

The ideal candidate has 7–8+ years in aerospace or related fields, strong C/C++, multi-threaded design skills, and experience with COSMOS or NASA cFS frameworks. Excellent communication required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• 8+ years in software development with a BS, or 7+ years with an MS.
• Experience in developing multiple flight software systems.
• Hands-on development and troubleshooting of software and hardware (motors, power distribution, etc.).
• Proficiency in C or C++.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software to build and integrate mission systems.
• Architect, develop, code, test, and document space system software.
• Mentor junior team members and review code/designs.
• Provide post-production/in-orbit support and customer-facing materials.
