Job summary

K2 Space is seeking a software engineer to design and verify flight software for the largest spacecraft, spanning propulsion, attitude control, thermal and power systems. You will write mission-critical code for real-time control and telemetry, using Rust, C/C++, Python, and HDL on embedded platforms.

In the first years you’ll develop core architecture, implement fault tolerance strategies, and validate code in software/hardware-in-the-loop simulations across multiple spacecraft.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficient in Rust, C/C++, Python, VHDL and SystemVerilog.

Responsibilities

• Create software architecture for real-time, fault-tolerant control of spacecraft.
• Develop software for propulsion, guidance/attitude control, thermal, power, and communications.
• Design state machines for robust spacecraft operation.
• Build tools to enable rapid deployment of high-quality code.
• Perform data analysis and debugging to identify and fix software issues.
• Support integration and testing of spacecraft subsystems.
