Job summary

X-Bow Systems in Huntsville, AL seeks a Launch Vehicle Software Engineer to join the flight software team for X-Bow's solid propellant launch vehicles from concept through flight operations.

Responsibilities include defining requirements, hardware/software trade studies, flight software development, and HWIL lab participation. 10+ years aerospace embedded software experience and strong C/C++ skills are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of directly related industry experience.
• Embedded aerospace software background.
• RTOS such as FREERTOS, Zephyr, VxWorks, or Green Hills.
• Interfaces and drivers for RS-232/422/485 and Ethernet.
• Software unit test suites experience.
• Version control experience (Git preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Define flight software requirements and modular architecture.
• Select and configure computing hardware, OS, libraries; conduct trade studies.
• Implement software/middleware interfaces to sensors, actuators, radios, FPGAs.
• Develop and implement flight software."
• Standardize software validation and verification methodologies.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) lab design and standup.
• Assist in launch vehicle integration, testing, and flight operations.
• Develop and implement EGS software for ground support equipment.
