Job summary

Aeon in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Flight Software Engineer to develop embedded C/C++ for our OFP and flight software. You will collaborate with GNC, aerodynamics, avionics, and test engineers across the full software lifecycle, including SIL and HIL testing, CI/CD tooling, and validation in simulation and real hardware.

This is a full-time, in-person role with plans to move to Cedar Park early 2027. U.S. person status under ITAR is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong C/C++ fundamentals for embedded/real-time software.
• Experience with architecture, testing, debugging, and code review.
• Ability to translate diagrams and algorithms into C/C++.
• Experience with unit, integration, and automated testing.
• Familiarity with SIL and HIL environments.
• CI/CD, build systems, Git, and Linux-based development proficiency.
• Experience debugging across hardware and software boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded C/C++ for flight program (OFP).
• Translate functional diagrams into flight software.
• Build and maintain SIL and HIL test environments.
• Develop unit, integration, and regression tests for flight software.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for build, test, deployment.
• Develop tools to improve simulation, testing, debugging, and workflows.
• Own interfaces between flight software, sensors, actuators, avionics, and simulation.
• Document architecture, interfaces, requirements, and test procedures.
