Job summary

Merlin Labs, Inc. in Boston, MA, is seeking an experienced software engineer for autonomous airborne systems.

You will contribute to the technical direction, design, and deployment of human-machine and machine-machine teaming capabilities that improve safety and performance. Ideal candidates have 5+ years building software for autonomous aircraft, strong Python and Linux skills, and a track record with testing and integration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Aerospace, or Robotics.
• 5+ years developing software for airborne autonomous systems.
• Proficiency in Python; Linux experience.
• Experience with Linux, version control, testing, and pipelines.
• Willing to travel 10–20%.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the technical direction of autonomy capabilities.
• Design, develop, and deploy teaming capabilities for human–machine systems.
• Propose and run experiments evaluating teaming in realistic ops.
• Contribute to simulation, integration, and flight test activities.
• Write, test, and review code per Merlin standards.
• Collaborate across Merlin to solve aviation challenges.
