Description

The Company

Liberty Mutual Investments (LMI) manages Liberty Mutual Insurance Group’s (LMIG) global financial assets across global markets and private domains to build capital and generate income. With over $100 billion in assets under management (AUM) and a team of nearly 300 investment, finance, and operations professionals located in Boston, MA, and New York, NY, LMI offers the best of both worlds — the look and feel of a boutique investment firm with the reputation and financial strength of a global leader.

LMI has been on a transformation path to spur innovation, capitalize on deep expertise, and scale its returns on long-term flexible capital through a “one firm, one portfolio, one team” mindset. Our operating model is built on three pillars: centralized portfolio construction, asset management, and investment-enabling services. The teams are structured as Investment Business Units (IBUs) working in concert: Global Strategy & Capital Allocation, Risk Management, Global Credit Markets, Global Alternative Markets, Global Liquid Markets, and Global Investment Solutions. Our portfolio spans a broad spectrum of public and private asset classes, and we are committed to expanding our capabilities and our toolkit in furtherance of our mission.

The Position

Global Liquid Markets (GLM) manages over $70 billion in liquid securities across interest rate products, credit instruments, structured products, and equities. GLM safeguards Liberty Mutual’s policyholder commitments while driving enterprise growth by dynamically managing both our liability-matching portfolios and return-generating strategies. As a core part of Liberty Mutual Investments, GLM combines a deep asset-owner mindset with market agility to deliver strategic value. We are seeking a Senior Analyst with 1-5 years of investing experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to leverage data and technology to enhance investment research and portfolio management.

Responsibilities
  • Integrate fundamental and quantitative analysis across fixed income sectors, including corporates, structured products, government bonds and derivatives
  • Develop and maintain analytical models, dashboards and investment tools to quantify risk and guide portfolio construction
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers and traders to identify and analyze opportunities
  • Utilize data analysis techniques to analyze credit spreads, yield curves and macroeconomic indicators relevant to fixed income investing
  • Work with internal teams to enhance investment processes
  • Support reporting efforts by preparing presentations and insights for senior leadership and investment committees
Qualifications
  • 1–5 years’ experience in fixed-income research, trading, or portfolio analytics
  • Bachelor’s in Finance, Economics, STEM or related; CFA/advanced degree a plus
  • Strong understanding of fixed-income securities, derivatives, and cross-asset market structure
  • Proficiency in quantitative and market analytics
  • Working knowledge of Python, SQL or similar programming languages a plus
  • Detail oriented self-starter with strong quantitative, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

Why Join Us?

  • Exposure to a dynamic investment environment with opportunities to contribute to a collaborative and research-driven investment process
  • Opportunities for growth within a highly analytical and intellectually stimulating team
  • A culture that values rigorous analysis, strategic thinking and continuous learning
