Job summary

Sun Health is seeking a Fitness Coordinator for The Colonnade in Surprise, AZ, to develop and lead senior fitness programs aligned with Arthritis Foundation-approved routines. You will coach instructors, design programs around residents' capabilities, and promote wellness across the community.

Applicants should have CPR/AED, ACE or AFAA certification, and experience in adult/geriatric recreation. The role emphasizes creative, safe, and engaging activities with a focus on aging well.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CPR and AED certification.
• ACE or AFAA group exercise certification.
• Group Exercise Certification is a plus.
• Previous fitness coordinator or instructor experience.
• Experience in adult/geriatric recreation preferred.
• Possesses current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Builds the fitness program with Life Enrichment Director.
• Teaches fitness classes and coaches instructors.
• Develops new and exciting physical and intellectual programs.
• Creates individualized training sessions based on resident safety.
• Motivates and engages older adults in wellness activities.
• Maintains positive relationships with residents and staff.
• Participates in marketing the fitness program.
• Responds to resident concerns about facilities and equipment.
• Monitors equipment and safety per budget.
