Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates and manages accounting, financial research, and management operations.
• Directs and supervises subordinate staff; staffing and scheduling.
• Trains staff on accounting policies and procedures.
• Reviews and analyzes accounting and financial procedures; recommends improvements.
• Meets with managers to discuss financial concerns and resolve inconsistencies.
• Prepares accounting statements and reports as required.
• Prepares or directs the departmental operating budget and monitors expenditures.
• Ensures vendor compliance with regulations; maintains controls.
• Manages state and federal grant programs and audits.
• Performs related duties; may lead disaster response during ECC activations.
• Occasionally works extended hours during emergencies.
