Job summary

Lunar Energy is seeking a Sr Firmware Engineer to own the firmware development lifecycle for our home energy products. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to deliver best-in-class firmware across power electronics, system controls, and diagnostics.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years delivering firmware for high-volume products, strong C and Python skills, and experience with ESP-IDF, TCP/IP, and wireless technologies.

Qualifications

Degree in a computer-engineering related or adjacent field.
5+ years delivering firmware for new products as part of a team.
Experience with CAN, Protocol Buffers.
Espressif ESP-IDF development experience.
Embedded Ethernet stacks: TCP/IP, BSD Socket API, HTTPS.
Wireless tech: WiFi, WiFi Mesh, Bluetooth/BLE, BLE-Mesh.
C proficiency; cmake and Python familiarity.
Labs: oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine product requirements.
Develop firmware for home energy product components.
Design and test firmware features including controls and diagnostics.
Optimize manufacturing via automation and validation tests.
Participate in feature brainstorming and trade-off analyses.
