Job description

The Senior Firmware Engineer will lead the development of embedded firmware and digital control systems for next‑generation DC‑DC power conversion platforms used in AI infrastructure, hyperscale data centers, telecom, and advanced computing applications. This role will work closely with the Lead Power Electronics Engineer on advanced Intermediate Bus Converter (IBC), multiphase buck and high‑density power architectures.

Digital Power Firmware Development
  • Develop embedded firmware for digitally controlled power conversion systems, including Intermediate Bus Converters (IBC), multiphase buck converters, isolated and non‑isolated DC‑DC converters, and GaN and SiC based power architectures.
  • Implement digital control algorithms for voltage, current, and power regulation.
  • Develop firmware for PWM generation, current balancing, soft‑start and sequencing, fault protection, telemetry and monitoring, thermal management, adaptive compensation and optimization.
  • Design and optimize high‑speed real‑time control loops for high‑efficiency power supplies.
DSP and Microcontroller Programming
  • Program and debug DSPs, ARM microcontrollers, and digital power controllers.
  • Develop low‑level firmware drivers and hardware abstraction layers.
  • Optimize firmware for deterministic real‑time performance.
  • Support firmware architecture scalability across multiple product platforms and work with FPGA or programmable logic interfaces when required.
Communication & System Management
  • Implement digital communication protocols including PMBus, I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and GPIO‑based control interfaces.
  • Develop telemetry, configuration, diagnostics, and fault logging features.
  • Support integration with system‑level power management architectures.
Control Systems & Power Electronics Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Power Electronics Engineer on digital control loop development, compensation tuning, system stability analysis, startup and transient optimization, and protection strategies.
  • Assist with hardware bring‑up, validation and debugging of new power products and support control algorithm modeling and verification.
Validation & Product Development
  • Develop automated test and validation firmware tools.
  • Support lab characterization including efficiency optimization, dynamic response testing, EMI troubleshooting, fault validation and thermal characterization.
  • Participate in prototype debugging and production release activities and support reliability and compliance testing activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of embedded firmware development experience.
  • Strong experience with digital power conversion systems.
  • Strong programming experience in C, C++, and embedded real‑time systems.
  • Experience programming TI C2000 DSPs, Microchip dsPIC, STM32, NXP or similar embedded controllers.
  • Strong understanding of switching power supply topologies, control theory, digital compensators, PWM architectures, ADC sampling techniques, power sequencing and protection.
  • Experience with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, analyzers, and power measurement systems.
  • Experience debugging embedded systems in hardware environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with digitally controlled IBC architectures.
  • Experience with AI server power delivery systems.
  • Experience with multiphase VRM control.
  • Knowledge of GaN and SiC power systems.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink or control modeling tools.
  • Experience with FPGA‑assisted control systems.
  • Experience implementing PMBus telemetry and datacenter power management features.
  • Familiarity with power integrity and transient response optimization.
  • Experience supporting high‑current low‑voltage power architectures.
Desired Skills
