Job summary

MIRA is seeking a talented Senior Firmware Engineer to help build the next evolution of human-computer interaction. This full-time, in-person role is based in San Francisco, with responsibilities spanning firmware design, hardware collaboration, and end-to-end system integration for our wearable devices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of firmware or embedded software engineering experience.
• Expert systems programming fundamentals across C/C++, Rust, embedded systems, low-level debugging, RTOS, BLE, and device communication stacks.
• Experience architecting and shipping complex technical products end-to-end across hardware and software boundaries.
• Strong product intuition and ability to lead pragmatic engineering tradeoffs in fast-moving environments.
• Comfortable owning firmware architecture, mentoring engineers, debugging real devices, and shipping production systems under tight iteration cycles.

Responsibilities

• Build firmware for next evolution of human-computer interaction for wearable hardware.
• Own end-to-end firmware development and contribute to hardware/software integration.
• Lead pragmatic engineering tradeoffs and influence product decisions in a fast-moving startup.
• Mentor engineers and help shipping production systems with tight iteration cycles.

These might make you a great fit:

• Experience with wireless protocols, embedded Linux, microcontrollers, sensors, audio pipelines, power optimization, or real-time systems is a major plus.
• Prior experience at an early-stage startup, ideally as a senior or early engineer, is a strong plus.
• Prior experience building and shipping consumer hardware products is a strong plus.
