Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a results-oriented FW Design Engineer in Cupertino to develop firmware in C for IPs inside SOC. You will understand IP specs, support post-silicon bringup, validation, and system integration, with a focus on ARM-based MCUs and ISR.

Preferred candidates have strong C/assembly skills, RTOS experience, and familiarity with Verilog/RTL; excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are expected.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a technical discipline with relevant experience.
• Proven excellence in firmware development using C and assembly on ARM CPUs.
• Strong understanding of MCUs, ISR and computer architecture.
• Experience with version control tools is a plus; RTOS familiarity is beneficial.

Description

In this job you will be responsible to develop firmware in C to implement critical FW features for IPs inside SOC.

Responsibilities

• You will be required to understand IPs by reading their specifications.
• You will also be responsible to support post-silicon bringup, validation, performance characterization, system integration and debugging.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS degree in technical discipline with minimum 10 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven excellence in FW development using C and assembly language with ARM CPUs.
• Solid understanding of MCUs and ISR.
• Solid understanding of computer architecture.
• Experience with version control tools (git, Perforce) is a plus.
• Experience with real-time operation system is a plus.
• Understanding of mixed signal concepts is a plus.
• Familiarity with RTL or Verilog is a plus.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700 and $324,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
