Job summary

42dot Inc. is seeking a Sr. Staff Firmware Engineer to design and implement the secure boot-chain, flash partition architecture and hardware-enforced isolation for the next-generation Software-Defined Vehicle platform.

You will work on high-availability, durable embedded C firmware, enabling zero-downtime systems with robust inter-core communication and fault-tolerant storage solutions.

Qualifications

• Pure firmware development for resource-constrained embedded systems.
• Defensive engineering to mitigate physical/electrical attacks.
• Lead hardware bring-up using JTAG/SWD, logic analyzers and scopes.
• Verify memory protections and secure boot paths.
• Wear-leveling and delta compression to extend flash life.

Responsibilities

• Architect Secure Boot-Chain across multiple stages (ROM, PBL, SBL/U-Boot).
• Implement hardware firewall technologies and MPUs for isolation.
• Manage domain IDs, MDAC, and PAC for partitioning and fault domains.
• Design atomic A/B firmware slot updates and dual-bank partitions.
• Develop low-level state machines for partition switching and runtime fallback.
