Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle, WA is seeking a senior BIOS/firmware engineer to design and implement UEFI/BIOS features for AWS server platforms, improve boot times, and collaborate with silicon vendors for platform bring‑up.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in embedded or BIOS/UEFI development with C, and strong experience mentoring teams. You will work with internal hardware/security groups and external silicon vendors on critical firmware challenges.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of non-internship professional software or firmware development experience.
• 6+ years of bare‑metal firmware or BIOS/UEFI development in C.
• Experience mentoring or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement custom UEFI/BIOS features for AWS server platforms.
• Debug complex firmware issues using ITP, ScanTool, and JTAG.
• Optimize boot time and platform initialization sequences.
• Develop secure boot mechanisms and firmware security features.
• Collaborate with hardware teams on board bring-up and validation.
