CEI is seeking a Senior Firewall Security Analyst to join their remote-dedicated team in EST hours. The role focuses on firewall security operations, rule reviews, incident support, and risk mitigation on a 12-month W2 contract.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in cybersecurity, hands-on Palo Alto Panorama, and strong firewall hardening knowledge. The position offers remote work with competitive hourly pay of $65–$75.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or network security.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise firewall platforms, including Cisco ASA and Palo Alto networks firewalls.
  • Hands-on experience managing Palo Alto Panorama for centralized firewall policy management.
  • Familiarity with DLP, SIEM, NIDS/NIPS, HIDS/HIPS, and endpoint protection suites.
  • Strong understanding of firewall hardening, segmentation, and least privilege network design.
  • Ability to interpret complex firewall rule sets and translate findings into security recommendations.
  • Experience with firewall management tools such as FireMon or AlgoSec.
  • Knowledge of NERC CIP compliance standards and related certifications is preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and support fast-changing business environments.

  • Investigate security events, perform root-cause analysis, and track incidents related to network access and cybersecurity.
  • Support firewall rule review, tuning, and configuration changes to mitigate risks and enhance security posture.
  • Interpret, review, and analyze firewall rules to identify misconfigurations, security risks, and compliance gaps.
  • Collaborate with network and infrastructure teams to ensure secure firewall changes with minimal business impact.
  • Maintain documentation related to firewall policies, standards, and review procedures.
  • Support incident response by analyzing firewall logs and rule behavior for potential threats.

Overview

The Senior Firewall Security Analyst will support firewall security operations, including reviewing and assessing firewall rules for security risks and compliance. The role involves monitoring network and cybersecurity threats, troubleshooting network issues, and implementing security improvements. The position requires shift work and minimal supervision, with responsibilities centered on maintaining security standards and supporting incident response efforts.
