Job summary

AT&T is seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer (Firewall Policy Implementation) to operate, maintain, and optimize Firewall Platforms in a large-scale enterprise. This hands-on role focuses on policy quality, change management, and incident resolution with a drive toward AI-assisted operations.

The position is onsite five days a week in the Charlotte hub, with possible consideration for Dallas and other hubs for standout candidates. Senior, technically deep expertise is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience operating and maintaining Firewall Policies in production.
• Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise Firewall Policy in large environments.
• Strong change control validation, rollback planning, and post-change verification.

Responsibilities

• Optimize and implement firewall rules to mitigate risk and protect data.
• Own day-to-day firewall policy operations, tuning, cleanup, insertions and removals.
• Apply safe configuration changes within defined change processes with validation.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and policy issues, incidents, and outages.
• Identify opportunities to automate and use AI-assisted workflows.
• Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for security posture.
