Job summary

Lumen Solutions Group Inc. is seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and optimize enterprise firewall solutions, focusing on Palo Alto Networks firewalls and related security platforms in a large-scale environment.

You will lead security projects, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with cloud and network teams while ensuring compliance with NIST, CIS, and PCI-DSS. This contract role supports Washington, DC area with remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS or related field.
• Experience: enterprise firewall security design and implementation.
• Strong understanding of NIST, CIS, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, ISO 27001 and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, administration, and optimization of enterprise firewall technologies.
• Manage firewall policies, rule reviews, configuration changes, and security architecture recommendations.
• Monitor and respond to security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
• Support cloud security across AWS and Azure environments.
• Develop security engineering documentation and runbooks.
• Mentor junior security staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
