Motion Recruitment is seeking a Senior Firewall Engineer to join our network security team in Irving, TX. You will design, implement, migrate and manage enterprise-grade firewall infrastructure across multi-vendor environments, focusing on Palo Alto, Fortinet and Cisco ecosystems.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Information Security Engineering experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on Network Security Engineering experience in enterprise firewall environments.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
• 2+ years of experience with security policy design, rulebase optimization, and firewall hardening in multi-vendor environments.
• 2+ years of hands-on Palo Alto Panorama experience, including template stacks, device groups, logging/reports, and RBAC.
• Strong understanding of enterprise network security principles and firewall architecture.
• Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco network security technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and maintain secure enterprise network infrastructures using Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, and Cisco technologies.
• Manage and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls and security management platforms in large-scale environments.
• Administer Palo Alto Panorama, including template stacks, device groups, policy hierarchy, logging, reporting, and RBAC.
• Lead firewall migration initiatives, including policy analysis, configuration translation, testing, and production deployment.
• Utilize migration tools such as Palo Alto Expedition, FortiConverter, SmartMove, and other vendor utilities.
• Build and deploy new firewall and network security infrastructure, including greenfield implementations and expansions.
• Conduct firewall policy reviews, rulebase optimization, security policy cleanup, and hardening activities.
• Tune threat prevention and security controls in accordance with enterprise security standards and compliance requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex network security and connectivity issues across multi-vendor environments.
• Collaborate with network, cloud, infrastructure, application, and security teams to integrate security controls into enterprise architecture.
• Monitor and respond to security events and alerts and participate in root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration standards, operational procedures, and other technical documentation.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation supporting critical network security incidents and maintenance activities.
• Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, firewall technologies, and industry best practices.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Firewall Engineer to join our network security team and support the design, implementation, migration, and ongoing management of enterprise-grade network security infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with Palo Alto Networks and Panorama, along with experience supporting Fortinet and Cisco environments. This position will play a key role in firewall migrations, security policy optimization, troubleshooting, and the deployment of secure network architectures across a large enterprise environment.

Candidates with experience working in large financial services or banking organizations are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and maintain secure enterprise network infrastructures using Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, and Cisco technologies.
• Manage and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls and security management platforms in large-scale environments.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
• 2+ years of hands‑on Network Security Engineering experience focused on enterprise firewall platforms and secure network architecture.
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
• 2+ years of experience with security policy design, rulebase optimization, and firewall hardening in multi‑vendor environments.
• 2+ years of hands‑on Palo Alto Panorama experience, including:

• Logging and reporting
• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
• Strong understanding of enterprise network security principles and firewall architecture.
