Job summary

Metcon, Inc. seeks a Senior Firestopping Manager to lead firestopping and passive fire-protection on major commercial projects.

You will act as the project’s primary authority for compliance, coordinating with executives, MEP teams, QC, subcontractors, inspectors, and AHJs. The ideal candidate has extensive commercial construction experience, deep knowledge of passive fire protection, and the ability to manage across multiple trades to keep schedules and turnover ready.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial construction experience with firestopping or passive fire protection.
• 3+ years in leadership of firestopping/passive fireprotection teams.
• Experience on large, complex commercial projects.
• Knowledge of firerated assemblies and codes such as IBC/NFPA/UL-listed systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead firestopping and passive fireprotection program across projects.
• Review drawings, specs, lifesafety plans, and rated assemblies.
• Coordinate with MEP, fire protection, drywall, and other trades.
• Oversee field inspections of penetrations and firerated elements.
• Manage deficiency logs, inspection reports, and documentation for closeout.
• Lead preinstallation meetings, mockups, and third-party coordination.
