Job summary

Guardian Security Systems is seeking an experienced Fire & Security Service Technician to troubleshoot, service, test, maintain, and repair fire alarm and security systems across customer sites in the Seattle area.

The role requires independent field work, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics. Travel, on-call duties, and company-provided accommodations may be required.

Qualifications

• Washington State 06 Low Voltage Electrical License is required.
• NICET Fire Alarm certification or CFAT certification is required.
• Hands-on experience with servicing, troubleshooting and repairing low-voltage systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, shop drawings, and manuals.
• Proficient with computers and system-specific software.
• Attention to detail and accurate service documentation.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently or in a team.
• Professional and customer-focused communication.
• Proficient with mobile apps and electronic reporting systems.
• Able to adapt in the field and find solutions efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair fire alarm, security, and low-voltage systems.
• Perform testing, inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
• Program and test electronic systems using technical documentation and specs.
• Read reports, wiring schematics, shop drawings, and manuals.
• Communicate system issues and next steps to customers.
• Maintain service documentation of tests, troubleshooting, and changes.
• Other duties as assigned.
