Job summary

Amkor Technology, Inc. in Arizona seeks a seasoned Fire Protection Engineer to design, install, and operate fire protection systems for its OSAT factories.

You will ensure NFPA compliance, review drawings, support commissioning, and collaborate with operations to safeguard semiconductor manufacturing environments. This role requires a bachelor’s in fire protection or mechanical engineering, 8+ years of experience, and knowledge of NFPA codes, fire alarms, sprinklers, and life-safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field is required.
• 8+ years of experience in fire protection system design and operation, preferably in semiconductor/manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and life-safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret fire protection drawings and specs.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam and MS Office.
• PE license or NICET certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design consultants to meet system requirements.
• Review drawings, submittals, and monitor construction progress.
• Support commissioning activities and functional testing.
• Identify and resolve construction and start-up issues.
• Manage documentation and handover for fire protection systems.
• Provide on-call support in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA codes and safety standards.
• Perform system capacity planning and troubleshooting.
• Partner with operations to optimize system performance.
• Conduct system evaluations and lead improvements through capital projects.
• Maintain accurate operation and maintenance documentation.
