Job summary

Coffman Engineers Inc. is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Discipline Engineer for our DC Metro office. The role requires ten or more years of experience, with a strong interest in fire protection and forensics consulting.

The successful candidate will lead client engagements, mentor staff, and help grow the practice in a collaborative, work‑life balanced environment. The ideal candidate has a PE license, a fire protection license by exam in the US, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; fire protection degree not required.
• PE license required.
• Fire protection license by examination in the United States.
• Minimum of 10 years of fire protection experience with a focus on forensics.
• Travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day client contacts and projects.
• Lead internal staff and external client needs.
• Develop new clients and business.
• Provide expert consultation on subrogation, liability and litigation matters.
• Analyze fire protection systems and building codes; interpret codes.
