Job summary

Arcadis in the United States is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Engineer to lead the fire protection discipline on multiple projects within the US Places Design & Engineering business. You will collaborate with other engineers, architects, and clients on facility design projects including federal sites, and travel approximately one week per month to project locations.

The role requires a BS in mechanical or fire protection engineering and US PE licensure, with strong knowledge of NFPA

Qualifications

BS in mechanical or fire protection engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
US Fire Protection PE licensure is essential.
Extensive experience producing IFC design packages for federal facilities.
Deep knowledge of life safety codes.
Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, NESC, UL, etc.
Strong understanding of fire alarm and suppression systems, smoke control.
Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Lead design teams and mentor junior staff to deliver construction-ready design packages.
Develop budgets, proposals, schedules, staffing plans, and pursue opportunities.
Fluency in design software including Revit, BIM, Autodesk Construction Cloud, AutoCAD, Navisworks.
Design fire protection systems for heavy industrial, commercial, manufacturing, and processing facilities.
Travel to project sites for fire protection site surveys and data collection.
